# Mikhmon Default Username and Password, and How to Reset a Forgotten One

> The default Mikhmon V3 login is username mikhmon and password 1234. If you changed it and forgot it, restore the admin line in include/config.php to the default, or change the password in Manage instance if you use Mikhmon Online.

## Steps

1. Open your Mikhmon address and sign in with username mikhmon and password 1234.

2. Change it right away in Admin Settings. Enter a new username and password, then save.

3. Forgot it on a self-hosted install: open include/config.php and restore the admin line to 'mikhmon<|<mikhmon' and 'mikhmon>|>aWNlbA==', which means mikhmon and 1234.
4. Forgot it on Mikhmon Online: sign in to mikhmon.pro with Google, open Manage instance, enter a new password, and click Save changes.

**Pro tip.** The Mikhmon login is not the router login. The RouterOS username and password go on the add-router page, not the Mikhmon sign-in page.

## Three logins people mix up

The Mikhmon login opens the Mikhmon app. The router login is the RouterOS user Mikhmon uses to reach the API. The hotspot login is the voucher username your customers type.

If invalid username or password shows on your customers' hotspot login page, the problem is the voucher user, not the Mikhmon login.

## Signing in on Mikhmon Online

When you create a Mikhmon at mikhmon.pro, you choose your own username and a password of at least 8 characters. There is no default password for anyone to guess.

You can also sign in with the Google button. Add up to 20 Google emails in Manage instance so your team can sign in without a password.

After the password changes, everyone signed in to that Mikhmon has to sign in again.

## Recover the application account without changing router access

For your own V3 installation, save a copy of include/config.php before editing its admin account entry. Change only the intended admin data; do not replace the entire file.

Restrict application access during recovery and change temporary credentials immediately. In Mikhmon Pro, use the owner’s management panel to change the instance password rather than resetting or deleting the instance.

Changing the application password does not change RouterOS credentials or customer voucher passwords.

### Why does Mikhmon keep sending me back to the login page?

Usually the PHP session isn't saved, for example because the server's session folder isn't writable or the browser blocks cookies. Try another browser, then check the session folder permissions on the server.

### Is the Mikhmon login the same as the Winbox login?

No. The Winbox login is a RouterOS user. Mikhmon only uses a RouterOS user to reach the router, and its own login is stored separately.
