Mikhmon vs MikroTik User Manager: Which One for Hotspot Vouchers?
Mikhmon manages hotspot users directly on the router and is the simplest way to sell vouchers. User Manager is MikroTik's RADIUS server and fits when many routers or PPPoE customers must share one central database.

Step-by-Step Guidance
- 1Mikhmon makes and prints vouchers, records sales, and monitors active users over the RouterOS API.
- 2User Manager is a RouterOS RADIUS package that authenticates hotspot and PPP users from one database.
- 3Mikhmon needs no RADIUS. Users live in each router's hotspot user list.
- 4Choose User Manager when one customer account must log in on many routers.
How each one works
Mikhmon reads and writes hotspot users, profiles, and scripts directly on the router over the RouterOS API. There is no other server besides where Mikhmon runs.
User Manager runs as a RADIUS server. The router forwards every login to User Manager, which decides whether the user may connect and records usage. In RouterOS 7, User Manager is an extra package you install and configure separately.
When to choose Mikhmon
You sell hourly or daily vouchers in a shop, boarding house, cafe, or neighbourhood network with one or a few routers.
You want batch voucher printing with your own template, login QR codes, and daily revenue reports without learning RADIUS.
When to choose User Manager
You run many routers and want one customer account to work at every location.
You manage monthly PPPoE customers and need central usage records.
Can you use both?
Yes, as long as each has its own job. For example, Mikhmon for hotspot vouchers and User Manager for PPPoE.
Don't manage the same users from both. Mikhmon's local users and RADIUS users live in different places and do not sync.
Choose based on the authentication workflow
If your router stores local HotSpot accounts and your tasks are creating, printing, and inspecting vouchers, Mikhmon manages that workflow. User Manager serves a different role as a RADIUS server for centralized authentication.
Managing multiple routers in one application does not automatically make a customer account work across every router. Decide whether you need that before changing authentication systems.
Test one account before moving customers
In a test environment, verify login, usage limits, session disconnection, and the records you need. Check RouterOS package and license support before choosing User Manager.
